The Minnesota Accordion Orchestra with Dee Langley and Greg Dagoumas takes their place among the Summer fun for Marshall Field's Day of Music at Orchestra Hall! Remember...if one accordion is good, nine are exquisite!

Trio Bez Ime (Colleen Bertsch, Katrina Mundinger and Dee Langley) present Classical and folk music from around the world at the ATG in Chicago.

Foot-stomping music and dance drives the Flying Foot Forum’s latest dance spectacle, a wild and crazy romp through the Czech folktale, “Boil Little Saucepan.” In this musical fable of a pudding pot gone mad — a comic and timely story of greed, rampant consumerism, and hunger for power — the Flying Foot Forum unleashes its trademark percussive dance and drumming. Inspired by tap dance, Romanian and Hungarian slap dancing, Taiko drumming, German drinking songs, and Appalachian hambone, this is a show the whole family will love. Venture into this wonderland of colorful costumes and zany characters, and witness a fairy-tale, space-age, retro-industrial battle between the forces of “good and evil” unlike anything you’ve ever seen!

In a wild, new work-in-progress, Flying Foot Forum offers its own theatrical interpretation of a Czech folk tale, “Boil Little Saucepan,” drawing heavily from Slavic music and dance. Experience the Rhine River in Germany without leaving Minnesota! This event features music, arts and crafts and good food! Rheinfest is open Saturday, September 7, 2002, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Sunday, September 8, 2002, from noon - 5 PM. The Minneapolis Accordion Orchestra with Dee Langley & Greg Dagoumas as Just Du-et will be featured in the Rhine River Tent for one hour only. Come and sing along!

Just Du-et is the flavor du jour for this fun evening. Dee & Greg will be performing music for your listening and dancing pleasure. Place: Pratt School (Malcolm & Orlin Avenues, at the base of the Witches' Hat water tower)

"Skeets" Langley will host the concert for accordion and orchestra with the Minneapolis Philharmonic conducted by Shelley Hanson. Dee Langley, Mark Stillman, Carmelo Pine, The "K" Trio and Peter Soave will be the soloists. The AAA will be premiering two new works for accordion at this concert! The event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased at the AAA registration booth or call 612-781-8192.

The Ethnic Dance Theatre presents works from Tadjikistan, Albania, Bulgaria and Ossetia as after dinner entertainment for the American Accordionists' Association's annual banquet. The public is invited to join them for dinner, banquet tickets may be purchased in advance at the AAA registration booth prior to July 12, 2002. That's right, 6:30 AM, in the morning, when all musicians should really be sleeping! Just Du-et joins Fubar Omniverse host, Blanche Fubar, for a couple of hours of early morning live accordion music and jokes to help end the month long celebration of June as Accordion Awareness Month. Listeners will be very aware of these two accordionists!

Find out at EDT's new show as the full company of 35 talented dancers, singers, and musicians present traditional music, dance, and costumes from the Himalayas, Andes, Pamir, Carpathians, Dinaric, Balkan, Julian Alps, Caucasus, Telemark, and Pyrenees.

A very special event free and open to the public. Join Philomusica in welcoming accordion soloist Dee Langley along with the Romamian Dance Ensemble, Izvorasul directed by John Omorean. Philomusica of Minnesota is a chamber orchestra - with a difference. Philomusica is one of the few self-directed (conductorless) orchestras in the world. It is also one of the very few successful cooperatively managed professional orchestras in the United States.

The American Accordion Musicological Society will present its 15th annual Accordion Festival and symposium March 1-3, 2002.

ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE: three major concerts, competitions, including the selection of a millennium festival champion, workshops, musicales, demonstrations, accordion repairs, displays, accordion related paraphernalia, accordion flea market (New and used instruments) etc. This year's events and Banquet will be in Honor of Mr. Charles Nunzio-accordion pioneer, teacher, composer, and performer.

The EDT Folk Orchestra and Mila Vocal Ensemble represent Ethnic Dance Theatre with beautifully costumed singers and talented musicians in a 90-minute musical field trip around the world. The concert will feature a new suite of traditional music from Afghanistan (prepared especially for this show, as well as music from Albania, Saudia Arabia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Pakistan, Finland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, plus traditional American music from Appalachia. Ever-changing rhythms and sounds, mysterious melodies, and exotic vocal acrobatics will delight music lovers of all ages.

Kickoff the holiday season with EDT and Tapestry Folkdance Center at our family dance party. EDT's Artistic Director Donald LaCourse is your host for this fun-filled evening as he demonstrates and teaches simple folk dances (no partner, nor experience necessary). Plenty of dancing for beginners and experienced dancers alike with international favorites throughout the evening, plus old favorites like the waltz, polka, and schottische.

Several members of the Vocal Ensemble attended workshops in Bulgaria this summer with master instructors and sharpened their already astonishing vocal techniques.
