Inspired by tap dance, Romanian and Hungarian slap dancing, Taiko drumming, German drinking songs, and Appalachian hambone, this is a show the whole family will love. Venture into this wonderland of colorful costumes and zany characters, and witness a fairy-tale, space-age, retro-industrial battle between the forces of “good and evil” unlike anything you’ve ever seen!

Carole Selin presents Time Frames: Songs on the Polish Immigrant Experience
In 1860, Selin's family, along with thousands of fellow Europeans, left their homes on Prussia's Hel Peninsula and made their way to Milwaukee to find a new life. In a tribute and love song honoring the immigrant experience, composer Selin uses traditional folk music, newly composed work, spoken word, and electronics to create tableaux rich in nostalgia and hope. An afternoon's journey around the world in music and song, this performance will showcase our highly acclaimed Folk Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble. Mike Steele, the late "Star-Tribune" dance critic, described the Folk Orchestra as "superb, often witty . . . filled with virtuosity and an easy going charm." Read more about the Folk Orchestra in our Newsletter. Several members of the Vocal Ensemble attended workshops in Bulgaria this summer with master instructors and sharpened their already astonishing vocal techniques.
