Download the written parts for each song (.pdf file) and the
sound sample to practice with (.mid file). Please note that
the Mid files are for practice *only* as I'm personally not
adept at midi file creation. The sound samples are meant for
your reference only and to make the first rehearsals of Squeezer-in
Accordion Orchestra a little less stressful for you. There is
no additional charge to play in this group at the festival over
the regular Sunday Day Pass
($20) or Weekend Pass.
See you at the festival! Dee Langley |

Ferghana
|
| Uzbekistan is a doubly landlocked country in
Central Asia, formerly part of the Soviet Union. It shares borders
with Kazakhstan to the west and to the north, Kyrgyzstan and
Tajikistan to the east, and Afghanistan and Turkmenistan to
the south. In the 1950s Uzbeki folk music was barred from the
radio stations. Although banned, the folk musical groups continued
to play their music in their own ways and spread it individually
as well. |

Jessamee Kujawiak from the Accidental
Polish Suite
|
| An original composition from Dee Langley that was requested
by members. This song is written with an ear toward the Poznan
region of Poland. Originally written for accordion ensemble,
Jessamee was recorded by Orkestar Bez Ime on Nice Driveway Vol.
1: Cheers From the Land of the Freeze in 2005 with the orchestration
of accordion, clarinet and violin. A short mp3 of OBI performing
this work is included below so one can get an idea of humans
playing it and not a synthesizer. |
