Friday, November 9
|
| |
| 8 PM - special event - Accordion Achievement Award ceremony
to honor Dan Newton |
| Since 2000 the NE Accordion Fest has honored an individual
that has maintained a high profile in music with the accordion.
This year NEAF selected "Daddy Squeeze" Dan Newton
for his unwavering devotion to all things accordion. Dan has
brought attention to the instrument nationwide through both
the sales of his Cds with Cafe Accordion Orchestra and as an
advocate of accordion on both Minnesota Public Radio, National
Public Radio and Prairie Home Companion. |
| |
| 9-11 PM - special event - Larry Malmberg (MN) and Mike
Alongi (IL) |
| Two great jazz accordionists together for two hours. This
rare event only happens at the NE Accordion Fest as Larry and
Mike prepare their repertoire for the evening especially for
this performance. Each gentleman has created his own mark upon
the jazz music genre and when they play together the performance
is nothing less that spell binding. Since they have never recorded
their music together it can only be heard in person at the festival.
Unbelievable, breathtaking and fun. |

for the jazz nuances and this symposium is a valid and irreplaceable
addition to any musician interested in starting or expanding
their jazz style and repertoire. |
| |
| 11 AM - special event - Workshop with Joanna Arnold Darrow |
| For those who love to play music, starting a new song can
be challenging. Joanna will share easy tips on how to approach

the old familiar tunes fresh. Suitable for all enthusiasts of
